Healthy Hot Chocolate

Healthy Hot Chocolate

If you are a parent of a child who tends to not like to eat, you probably try to sneak nutrients in anywhere you can. I absolutely love this recipe because not only is it no processed sugar added, but it also has Chia Seed. Chia seeds add calcium, protein, good fats, fiber, among so much more. The cacao adds iron. How amazing is that! Your plant milk will also add plenty of nutrients. I seriously would give my kids as many cups of this as they’d like. Feel free to add vegan marshmallows. They are very reasonably priced at Trader Joe’s. I make this in my high speed blender, but you could easily make it in a regular blender. Just add the Chia seeds for a few minutes to the plant milk so they will blend a little easier. Also, if you have a high speed blender you can blend until it is warm. It’s kind of nice because it doesn’t get too hot for the kids. Otherwise, just use a double boiler or two pots–one with boiling water and one sitting inside the other. Enjoy!
